Labels:text | screenshot | font | coin OCR: Coin History [1945-46 ] Following the death of King George V and the CANADA 0 abdication of King Edward VIII, King George VI ascended the throne. The arrival of a new king ET IND. IMP. provided the occasion to modernise the design of the reverses of the Canadian coinage. A voyageur scene was selected for the reverse of the silver 1946 DOLLAR dollar. The Canadian coat of arms as proclaimed in 1921 was selected for the reverse of the 50-cent Silver dollar, 1945-47 piece. The reverse of the other coins were: a caribou on the 25-cents; the Bluenose on the 10-cents; a beaver on the five-cents; and a twig with two maple leaves on the one-cent.
